Job Title: IT Technician (Two Entry-Level Positions Available District-Wide)

 

Reports To: Help Desk/PowerSchool Administrator

 

Job Overview:  This is a non-certified 240-day position.  In this position, the successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of all computer workstations and associated software within the district. The IT Technician will also be the main point of contact for employees who are experiencing computer issues.

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Assist all school personnel with installation, configuration and ongoing usability of system hardware and software.
  • Offer daily operations and systems support to all school personnel.
  • Verify functionality of hardware and software components.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues in person, remotely and via phone.
  • Assist all school personnel with computer and technical problems.
  • Additional duties as assigned by the Help Desk/PowerSchool Administrator.

Education Requirements: Associate's in Computer Science or related field preferred. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for degree.

 

Qualifications:

  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage stress effectively in high-pressure situations.
  • Understanding of IT principles and an ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to a varied audience.
  • Knowledge of and/or experience with wireless technology, computer proficiency, LAN knowledge, and help desk experience a plus but not required.
  • Strong sense of discretion and confidentiality required.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to effectively prioritize time and work.
  • Ability to maintain and organized documentation related to technology matters such as inventory lists and/or maintenance records.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of customer service for all support queries.
